I live in Virginia Beach but often travel for work and pleasure. I may be in your neck of the woods speaking at a search or marketing event — it's always great to meet like-minded marketers over a cuppa, help solve agency bottlenecks, or go sailing.
My approach to work and life is simple: "Success is simple. Do what's right, the right way, at the right time." When I'm not on social media, you'll find me at the beach — any beach — with my wife, or chasing summer breezes on a Hobie Cat or Laser. I have a stepdaughter in high school and two fantastic, smart kids in California who will someday change the world.
The sailing thread
Before SEO, there was salt water. I taught folks who'd never seen the sea how to sail at the Bradwell Sailing Centre, and crewed the Golden Plover in the Whitsundays — diving off the yardarm, meeting amazing people, and learning that you must sail, not drift nor lie at anchor.
That mindset still runs through everything: read the conditions, trim accordingly, and keep moving toward the destination. A ship in harbour is safe — but that's not what ships are built for.
